It's
not fear holding you here.
Waking
your body each day
or
withholding sleep
from
your weary eyes.
In
a world where the small bones or membranes
of
hummingbirds, bees and fantails
with
quick beating wings
harness enough energy
to
lift tiny bodies,
who
use dance to show directions
to
feeding grounds
and
where you, have eyes that found these lines.
What
part of the Beloved is not you.
Yes,
it's true. You've traveled a long way
to
reach here today.
Sit,
please. Rest a while.
The
journey has been about you..
until
today when everything
you've
ever been and will be
drops
away and there is only this moment,
with
the light shining through your gorgeous eyes
rising
from the same breeze rising and falling
through
the wings of humming birds
bees
and fantails.
And
you, shining the light from behind your eyes
light, that
moves through the cracks of a life well lived
share
with the world around you, because
angels
and dakinis are calling you to play.
And
you respond, because
this,
is what playmates
have
agreed to do.
