You spoke about the trap
of suffering..
about feeling the dull blade
ruthlessly hacking
at everything you hold dear..
The teacher says: bound too.
You also mentioned attachment
to having an audience..
or being that
for another.
Continuing to listen
while the blade reveals
subtle bodymind
will certainly reveal true essence.
You may become one of the lovers
of life too.
Asked what is awakening
Buddha held up a flower.
You too are blossoming
like a single vein expands
within the petal,
or the stem widening
while holding up the stamen.
Most certainly you will feel
the vibrance of even one
lone flower.
Lao Tzu said: The Sage
treats all [men] like straw dogs!
It's come time then,
to set yourself on fire,
if you're still cold, that is!
Holding that much light
you'll truly be able to see
your own way,
and become a beacon
for others.
