Tree Speak

*Buddha Shakyamuni sat beneath an asvattha or pipal tree in Bodh Gaya, India. Since his enlightenment this tree has become known as the bodhi or bo tree. In Japan, the linden or lime tree is usually referred to as the bodhi tree.
